On the terrace of the Imola racetrack, UniBo Motorsport presented the new prototypes for the current season in front of its partners.
The beginning of the event, held on the terrace of the Autodrome, was characterized by the discovery of the prototypes, attended by the Magnifico Rettore Giovanni Molari, Nicolò Cavina, Faculty Advisor of the Team and Pier Luigi Santi, Ambassador of the team. They, together with Claudio Domenicali, Maurizio Reggiani, Gian Carlo Minardi, Marco Panieri and Vincenzo Colla unveiled the new prototypes: first the electric car with the number 199, then the electric motorcycle and finally the combustion car, both with the number 88 to celebrate the foundation year of the Alma Mater Studiorum university. Finally, the boat from the UniBoat project was presented.
The conference was then held, attended by over 300 participants, including the students and representatives of local companies, which began with the introduction of Prof. Nicolò Cavina and the Magnifico Rettore Giovanni Molari, who highlighted the reason why the University of Bologna has been supporting and helping in the educational growth of projects such as UniBo Motorsport and UniBoAT for many years. The floor then passed to Gian Carlo Minardi, President of Formula Imola, who had the honour of encouraging the team in their work to cultivate their future in the best way possible.
Subsequently, the Councilor for economic development and green economy, work, and training of the Emilia Romagna Region, Vincenzo Colla, highlighted the contribution of the Region in support of these university projects, the support the institutions and the territory provide was reinforced by the words of Marco Panieri, Mayor of the Municipality of Imola.
Nicolò Cavina, Faculty Advisor of the Bologna team, then proceeded to reiterate the commitment spent on the project and highlighted the innovations within the team, as well as the support for the driverless and UniBoAT projects.
Thanks to the words of Team Leader Gabriele Cernicchi, the next stages were also announced, as well as the new organization chart for the current season and the summer competitions: an update was made on the preparation of the three vehicles for competitions, with the confirmation of their participation in the Formula Sae Combustion and Electric in several countries and at the MotoStudent in Aragon.
Afterwards, the Team Ambassador, Pier Luigi Santi, intervened and with his marked enthusiasm, highlighted the project and the work of the team with the great integration of local companies, as well as the opportunity to be within the MotorValley.
He then introduced the main partners of the project, Eng. Claudio Domenicali, CEO of Ducati, and Eng. Maurizio Reggiani, VP of Motorsport at Automobili Lamborghini, as the fundamental supporters of the project. Thanks to their contributions, the opportunities offered to the team to be able to grow and apply the acquired knowledge into practice were reaffirmed.
“Motorvalley is a group of universities, companies and people who are unique in the world. But it must be continually nourished and made to grow.” These are the words of Claudio Domenicali on the importance of the Region and the University towards projects such as that of UniBo Motorsport.
Finally, Prof. Nicolò Cavina took the microphone again to invite guests to admire the prototypes on the track.
The evening concluded with a demonstration on the track of the combustion car and electric motorcycle prototype, to showcase to the project partners the result of the hard work carried out by the team.
