The first race of the season has officially ended, with Ultimae LM, UniBo Motorsport’s combustion car, taking second place overall.
On June 29, the team presented the three 2023 prototypes to the team partners at the terrace of the Enzo and Dino Ferrari Autodrome in Imola: the electric car, eRBT-23, with the number 199, the Ultimae LM combustion car and the Nemesi electric motorcycle, with the number 88 in honor of the University of Bologna. During the event, an exhibition of the Driverless, a 1:10 project, was also offered and the UniBoAT team’s boat was shown.
The competition -Formula ATA- began on July 12 at Varano de’ Melegari, Riccardo Paletti Circuit. After technical inspections and static tests in the first days, the team placed fourth in the Design Event and Cost and Business Plan finals. Next, the dynamic trials were tackled, with Ultimae LM achieving second place in Acceleration and third place in Skidpad.
Endurance saw UniBo Motorsport take second place, behind Race-Up Combustion. During the awards night, the team achieved outstanding results: third place for Cost and Business Plan (an achievement not reached in five years), fourth place in Design, and second place Overall, with the Padua team on the top step of the podium and Scuderia Tor Vergata of Rome rounding it out.
These outstanding results were achieved thanks to the hard work of the students and the valuable support of the partners, who supported the team step by step.
Now the team is preparing for the next stages of the season: the electric car will go to Austria from July 22, the combustion car to Hungary from August 1, and both to Croatia from August 21.
