Can I get in the team even if I don’t study Engineering?

Yes, there are many positions and under-departments with non-engineers, one example is the Marketing division! The team is composed of many people and roles who work together to bring the team to the top.

What kind of engineers are you looking for?

We look for students from electronics, mechanics, informatics, marketing, electric, aerospace and automation.

Are all of you students?

Yes, the team is composed entirely of students, in both the directive and operative roles. You can get in the team no matter your academic year.

Can I work online?

The Covid-19 emergency forced all of us to work online, but the presence is strongly advised for some roles, and mandatory for others.

How much time does this project require?

It depends on the time of the year and the role you have. We suggest good personal organizational skills to be able to live this experience to the full.

Which firms do you work with?

We work with many firms of the territory and the MotorValley, which help us bring on track the prototypes. Our main sponsors are Lamborghini Squadra Corse, Fondazione Ducati and Reinova.

Can I do my internship and thesis in the team?

Yes, once you officially joined the team, you might have the chance to do the Internship and write your final dissertation on this project. This needs to be granted by the department responsible before contacting any professor.

Where are the headquarters?

Our mechanical workshop is located at Via Edoardo Collamarini 8, in Bologna (BO). The location is easily reachable by car, distant 5.7 km from the city centre. It can also be reached by bus: from Porta San Donato, close to the university zone in Via Zamboni, take Bus 99 to Piazza Dei Colori and walk 500 metres to reach our workshop (around 21 minutes). From the city centre, take Bus 14 from Rizzoli to Piazza Dei Colori and walk for 6 minutes to reach our workshop (around 30 minutes).

Can I be part of the team even if my university isn’t located in Bologna?

Yes, all the UniBo and MUNER students can get in the team.

Do I have to know English?

We suggest a good knowledge of the English language. We take part in international competitions and all the documents we give the jury are in English, as well as the regulations, hence it’s fundamental to have a good preparation.

What is Formula SAE?

Formula SAE, organized by the Society of Automotive Engineers, is the automotive competition that focuses on students' ability to create a racing prototype. They are not only called to create a performing vehicle, but also to focus on economic issues, evaluated through specific tests. Students, putting themselves to the test, combine the knowledge learned from studies with practical skills expendable in their future professional career.

What is Motostudent?

It is a competition which takes place every two years at the Aragòn circuit in Spain, with over 80 university teams from all over the world. It includes two categories: Electric and Petrol. Evaluations are carried out both from the design and from the performance point of view.

What is Moto Engineering Italy?

It is a competition reserved to electric motorcycles, stipulated and organized by international university teams, organized at the Enzo and Dino Ferrari international racetrack in Imola.

How can I join the team?

The recruiting is in September but you can apply all year long, you can find the application form on our website.

For the technical departments there is a test followed by an interview if the test goes well.

For the Marketing department there is just an interview.
