UniBo Motorsport triumphs at Virtual Formula 2023

The University of Bologna motorsport team achieved outstanding results at the prestigious Virtual Formula 2023 competition, partaking at the awards ceremony held yesterday – May 25 – in Udine. The event took place in front of industry experts from all over the world, and the young talents from the university demonstrated skill and ingenuity, winning top positions in several branches.

In the Optimization category, the team from the University of Bologna took first place, outperforming high-level opponents thanks to their innovative approach and cutting-edge optimization strategies. This achievement testifies to their ability to develop increasingly high-performance, efficient and environmentally friendly vehicles.

The team excelled in the Digital Twin Combustion category, taking second place. Through the application of advanced virtual models, they managed to simulate and optimize the combustion process, achieving remarkable results.

Moreover, the University of Bologna team achieved an excellent third place in the Digital Twin Electric category.

UniBo Motorsport’s Dynamics Manager Matteo Civale said he was immensely proud. “We really put a lot of effort into this competition, and we couldn’t have dreamed of better results given the first, second and third places in all categories. I’m very proud of the whole department that has shown constant interest and dedication to the project, and I’m happy to continue carrying the team’s name high at Virtual Formula.”
