Imola, 21 June 2022 – On the terrace of the Imola racetrack, UniBo Motorsport presented the new prototypes for the current season.
The start of the event, held on the Autodrome terrace, was characterized by the unveiling of the prototypes, attended by the Magnificent Rector Giovanni Molari, by Nicolò Cavina, Faculty Advisor of the Team and Pier Luigi Santi, Ambassador of the team. Together with Claudio Domenicali, Maurizio Reggiani, Gian Carlo Minardi and Vincenzo Colla, they unveiled the electric projects of the motorcycle and single-seater, as well as the combustion prototype, the novelty of the driverless and the boat of the UniBoAT project.
The conference was then held, attended by over 300 participants including students and representatives of local companies, which began with the opening of the works attended by the Magnificent Rector Giovanni Molari, with whom he highlighted the reason for the importance for to which the University of Bologna has been supporting and helping projects such as UniBo Motorsport and UniBoAT in the educational growth for many years.
The word was then passed to Gian Carlo Minardi, in order to do the “honors of the house” and encourage the boys in their work to better cultivate their future.
Subsequently, the Councilor for economic development and green economy, work, training of the Emilia Romagna region, Vincenzo Colla, highlighted the contribution of the Region in support of these university projects, supported by the words of Marco Panieri, Mayor of the Municipality of Imola, in confirmation of the support of the institutions and the territory.
Nicolò Cavina, Faculty Advisor of the Team, then took the floor, in order to confirm the commitment spent on the project and highlight the innovations within the team, as well as support the driverless and UniBoAT project.
Thanks to the words of the Team Leader, Rebecca Rimondi, the next stages, the summer competitions, were also announced: the point was made on the preparation for the races of the three vehicles, with the confirmation of participation in the Formula Sae Combustion and Electric in different countries and in the Moto Engineering Italy in Imola.
Subsequently, the Team Ambassador, Pier Luigi Santi, intervened, with his strong enthusiasm who enhanced the project and the work of the students with the great integration of local companies, as well as the good fortune of being within the MotorValley.
He then introduced the Main Partners of the project: Claudio Domenicali, CEO of Ducati and Maurizio Reggiani, VP Motorsport Automobili Lamborghini, as key supporters of the project. Thanks to their interventions, the opportunity offered to young people to grow and put the acquired knowledge into practice was reaffirmed.
The Ambassador then introduced two cases of project supporters, Manfredi Fenici of Engines Engineering and Matteo Canella of EDAG Italia who were able to underline the value and importance of this type of experience.
The evening ended with a demonstration of the prototypes on the track that allowed the partners and supporters of the project to see the result of the work done by the Team.
