THE LATEST NEWS FROM UNIBO MOTORSPORT

Like previous years, the UniBo Motorsport team from the University of Bologna took part in the qualifiers against hundreds of other universities to obtain entry into the international championship that will be held this summer. The whole team participated and excellent results were achieved, qualifying in most of the races.

The new combustion car, currently 4th in the European ranking and 13th in the global ranking, will take part in Formula SAE Italy from the 12th to the 16th of July at the “Riccardo Paletti” Circuit in Varano De’ Melegari. In this race last year, Bologna came home with 4th overall. The team will then participate in Formula Student East on the Formula 1 circuit Hungaroring in Budapest between the 1st and 5th of August, followed by Formula Student Alpe Adria in Croatia from August 21-26.

The electric car will compete to match and improve on last season’s results, which was its debut year, in the Formula SAE Italy and Formula Student Alpe Adria alongside the combustion prototype. Moreover, it will participate from the 22nd to the 27th of July in the ambitious Formula Student Austria at the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg.

Racing an electric motorbike, the team will fight to keep the European championship title achieved in last season’s Moto Student competition which will be held this year at the Moto GP Motorland of Aragon from the 11th to 15th of October.

For this season the maintenance and protection of the vehicles and crew during tournaments are also taken care of with a gazebo. The team has equipped itself with a large closable gazebo that will enable the members of UBM to work on the prototypes and will keep them protected from the weather, whether it’s heavy rainfall or excessive sun.
Also new for the current season are the logistics and warehouse departments. In addition to the organization of the team’s tools and equipment at the home base, they will handle the essential equipment and logistics during competition days. The team is happy to announce that with its expansion along with the three projects it works on, the added department underscores the progress the team has made over the past several years.

The whole team is ready for these challenges and is looking forward to facing them to the best of its ability!
